Jour 1
Between river, castle and nature
Settle into a green oasis nestled between the canal and the Yonne River, in the heart of a rural setting where time seems to pass more slowly. This peaceful spot in Corbigny is ideal for a nature break, just a stone’s throw from a historic castle and a boat rental base: perfect for those who dream of a trip on the water or a moment of relaxation by the canal.
Here, everything invites you to enjoy the good life: a picnic table in the shade, a quiet fishing spot, vast grassy areas where you can settle down in complete freedom… and a calm atmosphere, perfect for unwinding.
But this spot is not limited to the waterfront: you are also at the gateway to the Morvan Regional Natural Park, a paradise for family walks, with forests, trails and magnificent views. Ideal for alternating between relaxing on the banks of the Yonne and exploring the Burgundy countryside.
Jour 2
Peaceful stop next to Châteauneuf
Head to Burgundy, and more specifically to Vandenesse-en-Auxois, for a bucolic stopover on the banks of the Burgundy Canal. This charming spot, located just a few kilometres from Dijon, welcomes you with a breathtaking view of the medieval village of Châteauneuf, ranked among the most beautiful in France.
A stone’s throw away, an adorable stone lock keeper’s house adds a touch of authenticity to the place. All around, green meadows and lush nature frame the panorama. It’s the perfect place to settle down, breathe and let time pass slowly to the rhythm of the water.
Here, you may encounter a discreet fisherman, a family of ducks out for a stroll, or a few walkers on the cycle path that runs alongside the canal. But most of the time, it is the calm and beauty of the landscape that will keep you company during your break.
Jour 3
Last stop in the vineyards near Mâcon
To end your road trip on a high note, treat yourself to a peaceful stopover in the heart of the vineyards, on a grassy field with panoramic views of the vines stretching as far as the eye can see. This authentic spot, located near Mâcon, exudes tranquillity and the gentle Burgundian way of life.
Easy to access and perfectly equipped, it has dry toilets to ensure your comfort, even in the middle of nature. It’s the perfect place for a final night in the countryside, gazing at the hills with a glass of local wine in hand.
Before you leave, don’t miss out on visiting the treasures of the region’s heritage: the medieval town of Cluny, Tournus Abbey, or the impressive Solutré rock, perched above the vineyards and steeped in history.
And after waking up in the heart of the vineyards? You have two options: head to Lyon to continue your urban adventure, or set off for Évian and the Swiss border for a breath of fresh air between lakes and mountains.
